Lake District Takes Bids on Tree Removal
Submitted by the Lake District July 10, 2012
McDill Lake District is requesting proposals from interested businesses for the cutting and removal of willow and other trees growing on the lake bed. Removal of trees/brush would be completed in fall 2012, and must be complete by April 15 2013. All DNR and state regulations must be followed. A chapter 30 permit to allow driving on the lake bed will be filed by the lake district for the removal. No controlled burning of the lake bed will be allowed by the DNR, proposals must be for cutting and/or chemical treatment only. Any plant material cut must be removed from the lakebed, the lake district is mainly concerned with the cutting of the young sprouted trees on the lakebed due to their ability to stay longer in the water after refill and become a boating navigation hazard. Proof of insurance is required. Viewing of the lake bed for review of the project may be done by walking on the lake bed from Koziczikowski park or the Heffron St boat landing, no driving on the lake bed at this time is allowed. Questions or proposals may be directed to Krista Olson McDill Lake District Secretary 715-344-1779 or [email protected]. Proposals are due by July 27, 2012.
