Final Touches Clear Way for New Third Street
City-Times Staff
Stevens Point Board of Public Works approved some final details for the grand opening of Third Street, which is expected on Thursday.
Changes to the city’s municipal code were required so public works employees could install signage and specify driving direction, which includes soutbound to Main Street and northbound to Centerpoint Drive.
The new street is too narrow for onstreet parking, and “No Parking” signs will be installed. The exception is five designated stalls directly west of the old Dunham’s building.
Stop signs for southbound traffic at Centerpoint Drive and northbound traffic at Main Street will also be installed.
