City Employee Insurance Costs Change in 2013
Changes in the 2013 health care insurance plan for city employees were approved by the personnel committee Monday night.
Included in the changes were several increases for employees, depending on the deductible option each would chose. Premiums increased for $500- $2000 deductible options, with a monthly premium for family coverage costing $2305 monthly, and increase of $52 dollars from the 2012 monthly premium.
Plans with a $2500+ deductible saw a 2% premium reduction.
Prescription co-pays did not change from the current $10 generic/ $20 brand name medications. Maintenance drugs are fully covered.
The changes were discussed in closed session and passed without public debate or opposition.
