Walker to Add Additional Staff to Veteran’s Home

Governor Walker said Thursday the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King will get nearly 90 addtional staff members next year.
Walker said he’s included funding for the positions- which include 25 new full-time registered nurses and 58 certified nursing assitants. The move is designed to better ensure adequate staffing for the campus of the veteran’s home, which includes four specialized nursing facilities.
Walker is speaking at Ainsworth Hall at the Wisconsin Veterans Home honoring veterans on Pearl Harbor Day starting at 2:00 p.m.
He is expected to address the staffing questions after his presentation.
The budget request was submitted to the Governor by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
