Farmshed Looking for Board Members

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013-2015 Central Rivers Farmshed Board of Directors. We are looking for people with a passion for local food and farming, who also have the skills to help us move our region towards a collaborative and sustainable food system. Our growth over the past year and a half is testament to the increased awareness and desire to bring local foods and farms to the forefront of our communities.
Farmshed strives to spread that message through our educational programming and events and in the active collaborations in which we engage. There is no one way to tackle the food system, instead we have tapped into those fighting the good fight beside us, joining forces to strengthen our work. You will continue to see this evolve; know that we are determined to bring about significant change to our regional food system over the next several years. As a Farmshed board member, you will be an integral part of this growing movement in Central Wisconsin, helping spread our message and impact across the region.

If you are willing to join us in our mission and can make a commitment to the growth of our organization, please submit a cover letter, resume, and completed interest survey to [email protected] by Friday, March 9th. Selected candidates will interview the weeks of March 11th and 18th. Voting will take place at the annual meeting on Wednesday, March 27th at The Greenhouse Project. Elected members will join us for a full board and staff retreat at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station on April 13th.

In additon to board members, we are also in the process of recruiting for our 7 member farmer advisory board. The committee is in the process of completing the interest survey for that group.
