Sex Offender Released
A sex offender has been released in Stevens Point.
Curtis C. Rieben has been convicted of Repeated Sexual Assault of Same Child, Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child.
Rieben has completed his required sentence and has been released from prison under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.
The Stevens Point Police Department is releasing the attached information pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. He is NOT wanted by the police at this time.
Sex offenders have always lived in our communities, but it was not until the Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the community. Citizen abuse of this information to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders will not be tolerated.
Rieben was released from the Department of Community Corrections on 02/12/2013 and will be residing in Stevens Point.
Victims include teen female acquaintances and non-relative runaways. Sexual assaults included providing alcohol and intoxicated victims. Rieben will be under close supervision through the Department of Corrections.
Special Conditions of Supervision
- No unsupervised contact with minors; No taverns/bars/liquor stores; No contact with victim; Not to consume alcohol or drugs.
- Comply with standard sex offender rules; cooperate with electronic monitoring.
- Face to face contact with law enforcement required; comply with all requirements and lifetime registrant of WI sex offender registration program.
