SPPD: Keep Your Eyes Open for Would-be Abductor

The Stevens Point Police are investigating a suspicious incident which occurred Sunday, March 3 at approximately 3:00 PM.
As a juvenile female was jogging on Reserve Street near Maria Drive she was approached by a man asking for directions. The man reportedly grabbed the her arm and attempt to pull her toward his vehicle. The girl was able to pull her arm away from him and run away.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 50’s, stocky build, and approximately 200 lbs with a gray beard. The vehicle he drove was described as a light blue or gray car with a red emblem on the front grill area.
This description of the suspect and vehicle match that of two other similar incidents in the area, one which occurred at Iverson Park and another on Prentice Street late last year.
The Police Department is looking for any information regarding these incidents and help identifying the suspect.
SPPD is also urging walkers and joggers to stay in groups and in well-lit and populated areas, and asks people to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious incidents immediately to law enforcement.
