School District to Host Author Rick Wormeli

The Stevens Point Area Public School District will host Rick Wormeli, author of “Fair Isn’t Always Equal- Assessing & Grading in the Differentiated Classroom”.
Wormeli will speak on Wednesday March 13 from 6- 8 PM. in the Ben Franklin Junior High School Auditorium.
Wormeli is one of the first Nationally Board Certified teachers in America. His instructional practice includes 30 years teaching math, science, English, physical education, health, history and coaching teachers.
He will focus on the philosophy behind standards based report cards, which the Stevens Point Area Public School District is piloting at the elementary level. Wormeli will also speak about how elementary and secondary educators communicate students’ academic progress with parents for improved communication in grading.
