Letter: Don’t Vote for “Yes Men”
To the Editor-
April 2nd city elections will come down to one question: Do you like the current administrations (i.e. mayor’s) attempt to control city government or not?
If you believe that the city government needs to remain under the control of the people, and the elected representatives, you might like to consider voting for
John Moe for city clerk, Carrie Freeburg for comptroller-treasurer and Louis Molepske for city attorney.
If you feel the mayor should have ultimate control and select or appoint his own “YES” people, you might prefer his wife’s aunt Karlyn Krautkramer for city clerk, and his apparent personal spokesperson Andrew Logan Beverage for city attorney.
The City of Stevens Point will need qualified and experienced officials in those seats who are not afraid to keep the interests of the citizens in mind when they serve the public. For the city attorney race I would suggest that people watch the meeting video from the Special Joint Personnel/Finance meeting of January 3rd, 2012. It will say a lot about the ideals of a certain candidate’s apparent disregard for the interest of the public.
That is nowhere the impression which I believe any citizen of Stevens Point desires of an elected official. We need people in office willing to debate and present opposing viewpoints and options in order to get the best option available for the public.
Roger G. Trzebiatowski
7th District Alderman
