The Stevens Point Police Department has arrested a suspect in the robberies of the northeast side of Stevens Point.
Authorities say Jason A. Kiedrowski, 35 of Stevens Point, was arrested as a suspect in a series of daytime robberies from homes in the city over the past several weeks. Kiedrowski was arrested on Monday afternoon, and is currently being held in custody on a probation hold at the Portage County Jail.
Kiedrowski faces 8 counts of burglary, possession of burglarious tools and possession of controlled substances.
According to law enforcement, Kiedrowski was arrested after receiving a tip from an intended victim. The caller had heard of the burglaries from local news media and knew to contact Police about a suspicious incident.
According to Sgt. Tony Babl, this is an excellent example of police, community and news media teamwork to solve crimes and to keep our community safe.
