Dorothy R. Schultz, 89 of Stevens Point died late Saturday evening, April 20, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Dorothy was born September 4, 1923 in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of the late Nick and Helen (Eiden) Kabachinski. She attended St. Stephen’s grade school, and graduated from Emerson High School in 1941.
Dorothy worked for Hardware Mutual Insurance Company (now Sentry Insurance) as an Accounting Adjustment Clerk from 1941 to 1948 until her marriage to Thomas C. Schultz on June 15, 1948 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. The couple settled in Stevens Point and have lived at their present address the past fifty six years. They were married for fifty nine years before her husband Thomas preceded her in death on January 13, 2008. After their marriage Dorothy was a homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, music and dancing.
Survivors include five sons; Donald (Karen) Schultz and William (Mary Jo) Shultz both of Stevens Point. Richard (Shiela) Schultz of Plover, John (Karen) Schultz of Town of Hull and James (LuAnn) Schultz Sioux Falls, SD. Her three daughters Nancy Schultz and Diane Schultz both of Stevens Point and Carol Schultz of Whiting. Eight grandchildren, Christopher Schultz, Milwaukee, WI., Lisa Schultz, Cottage Grove, WI., Jennifer Guzman, Makayla Schultz, Mariah Schultz, Eric Schultz, Bryson Schultz, and Maggie Schultz all of Stevens Point. Further survived by three sisters, Lorraine Schultz, Ethel Kabachinski and Eleanor Wimme all of Stevens Point. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and one sister Irene Eiden.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 24, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, and from 9:30 AM Wednesday morning at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter’s Church until the time for mass.
