Louise H. Henninger, 93
Louise H. Henninger, age 93, of Stevens Point, died April 23, 2013 at the Portage County Health Care Center.
Louise was born March 30, 1920 to the late Emil & Hattie (Drescher) Korth in York Center, Town of York, WI. She graduated from Granton High School in 1938. Louise received a two year Rural Teaching Degree in 1940 from Central State Teacher College in Stevens Point.
She taught in one room schoolhouses in the Clark County area for 5 years until marrying Harlow Henninger August 25, 1945 at the York Center United Methodist Church. After her marriage, Louise devoted her life to family and raising 5 children.
Louise’s sweet, comforting nature made her a great conversationalist. Family was central to her and she cherished family gatherings. Faith was very important to Louise and so were her connections for many decades to Fountain Park United Methodist in Sheboygan, and in her recent years, to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Stevens Point. Famiy camping in many national parks was a highlight. Sewing, quilting, baking, and gardening were part of her everyday life. Louise enjoyed nature and was a conservationist at heart and in daily practice.
She is survived by her husband, Harlow of Stevens Point; children, Howard Henninger of NC, David (Cathy) Henninger of Oconomowoc, WI, Mark (Debi) of Metamora, IL, Alan (Connie) Henninger of Waconia, MN, & Jean (Harv) Hayden of Custer, WI; siblings, Walter (Violet) Korth of Cambridge, WI, Dorothy Meyer of Elk Mound, WI, & Eileen Crossman of Lake Mills, WI; sister-in-law, Alvina Korth of Cambridge, WI; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Wilbert.
A service celebrating her life, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Pastor Howard Hintzman officiating. Visitation will also be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Clark County at a later date.
We’re thankful for all the people who have loved and cared for Louise over the years.
