Taxpayer- Funded Private Schools Topic of Discussion

“The Impact of Taxpayer-Funded Private School Vouchers” is the topic of a discussion being held Wednesday evening.
The discussion begins at 6:30 PM in conference rooms 1 & 2 of the County Annex Building, 1462 Strongs Avenue. The event is being sponsored by School Funding Reform for Wisconsin and the League of Women Voters of the Stevens Point Area. Informal, public discussion will follow the presentation.
Parking is available behind Portage County Annex Building.
The discussion is being billed as “candid” and involves the use of vouchers in area public schools and features a Department of Public Instruction presentation and a panel of experts.

School Funding Reform for Wisconsin is a grassroots Stevens Point organization which works to bolster awareness of state policies regarding school funding. The group started after two failed school- funding referendums in 2010.
The League of Women Voters of Stevens Point is a non-partisan group of men and women who work to improve government by engaging citizens in the democratic process.
