Portage County Law Enforcement agencies and the Stevens Point Elks Lodge 641 will be hosting the 5 annual Cops & Bobbers at Bukolt Park on June 1.
The program is a unique fishing experience where children ages 4-13 and their parents can enjoy a day of fishing with their local law enforcement officers. The idea is to get kids “hooked” on fishing, not drugs or violence.
The event will be hosted on June 01, 2013, which is free fishing weekend, so no fishing license is required. Bait and some equipment will be available for use, or children are welcome to bring their own equipment to use. The time for the catch and release tournament style program will be from 9 – 11:00 A.M.
Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to participate.
Parents should register for the event by calling the Portage County Sheriff’s Office by May 30, 2013 at (715) 346-1400. Parents will need to provide their name and contact information, number of attendees, if they need fishing equipment and t-shirt sizes for (S, M, L, XL, XXL) for the kids.
Check-in begins at 8:30 AM.
