Summer- Geared Events Fill Weekend

The annual St. Peter’s Parish Picnic is being held June 8 & 9 on the corners of 4th and North 2nd Avenues, featuring live music, smoked pork dinner on Saturday 4-7 PM and chicken dinner Sunday 11 AM- 2 PM. A polka mass Saturday 4 PM, Sunday at 10:30 AM. Burgers, brats and other carnival munchies available for purchase. A raffle drawing for the $5000 grand prize will take place Sunday at 6:30 PM. The event is free.
Heritage Days, June 8 & 9, will be at the corners of Willow and Washington. Heritage Park is opening the doors of authentic historical homes in Heritage Park for the public. This year’s event will also feature the history of Engford Family Circus, and descendents of the family will be on hand to regail with stories. Food, beverages books and souvenirs are available for purchase. The Portage County Historical Society is requesting donations for admission.
Free swimming at Copps Municipal Pool, 2442 Sims Avenue (behind MSTC on Michigan Ave.). The pool will be open to the public free of charge each Sunday 10 AM- noon.
Summer Celebration at the Stevens Point Scultpure Park, 900 North Second Street, will celebrate the installation of five new sculptures to the park. Also included are poetry readings, live music and an artist meet & greet. The event is free.
