SentryWorld Breaks Ground on Developments
City-Times Staff
SentryWorld Golf Course has begun renovations to its 72- par golf course.
The course is closed during 2013 so crews can upgrade and enhance the course, which has been ranked 7th Best in State by Golf Digest. The course is owned by Sentry Insurance and not all plans for the enhancements have been released to the media.
As part of the SentryWorld renovation project, workers began burying irrigations lines in early May. At completion the course will have more than 112k feet of main line and some 27 miles of irrigation pipe.
Officials from SentryWorld say the new irrigation system will be more efficient energy use and result in using less water to keep the course moist.
SentryWorld is public course nearly 7,000 yards long, is more than 30 years old. The golf course is expected to reopen in 2014.
