Josephine A. Radomski, 93
Josephine A. Radomski, 93, of Stevens Point, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, with her loving family at her side at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital.
Josephine was born on March 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank and Isabella (Worzella) Slowinski. Josie was the last surviving member of her family. She attended the Greenmeadow School in Mill Creek. She married Phillip Radomski at St. Bartholomew’s Church on January 15, 1938. Phillip passed away April 17, 1992.
Josephine had worked at a leather shoe factory, a fishing tackle company, a jewelry store, food service and housekeeping.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing (no fish was too small – she kept them all), playing cards and was also an avid quilter. Her faith and church were very important to her and she was a 50-year member of Saint Stanislaus Rosary Society. She was also a long term member of the Lincoln Center exercise program. Josie made her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren baby crib quilts that are cherished by all to this day. She also loved spending time with her family at the cottage up north.
Josie is survived by her seven children, Edward (Sandy) Radomski, Kerrville, Texas, Carol (William) Gile, Geraldine (Donald) Engebretson, both of Stevens Point, Marilyn (Richard) Vaughan, West Allis, Patricia (LeRoy) Wierzba, Custer, Marie (Gary) Swanson, Port Aransas, Texas, Phillip Radomski Jr., and partner Mary Boris, Stevens Point.
16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; 12 sisters and brothers; one granddaughter, Kim Radomski; and one son-in-law, Lyle Engebretson.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
