Trio Crosses Lake Michigan on Paddle Board
City-Times Staff
Three paddle boarders made it safely to the far side of Lake Michigan on Monday after traveling 80 miles from the shores of Milwaukee.
Two brothers, Craig Masselink, 23, and 19-year-old Trent Masselink, along with 21-year-old Ginny Melby spent 24 hours making the journey for the charity Restore International, an organization that fights to end the selling of girls into prostitution and the turning of boys into child soldiers in Uganda.
The trio was welcomed by nearly 100 friends and family as they used the last of their energy to make it to land in Muskegon, Michigan, with Ginny and Trent paddling and Craig pushing the board forward.
