Farmshed Seeking AmeriCorps Members for School Programs

Central Wisconsin Farmshed has announced it is seeking two AmeriCorps Farm to School team members, a nutrition educator and a community outreach specialist for the 2013/2014 school year.
Applications are now being accepted and the position is set to begin August 15th, 2013. The AmeriCorps members will work together with our schools on three main areas of focus which address the following goals of the program:
- Aiding school staff in the promotion, procurement, and education of healthy local foods, including creating and maintaining school gardens, to help change the school food environment.
- Serving in a direct capacity teaching nutrition education to students K-12 in the classroom.
- Recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to participate in Farm to School committees and activities.
