Packers Unveil $140M Renovations
For the City-Times
The Green Bay Packers officially opened their $146 million dollar addition to the south end zone at Lambeau Field Thursday.
The renovation includes almost seven thousand new seats allowing many fans who waited years for season tickets to finally get them.
The Packers financed the entire project by selling 250,000 new shares to stockholders and by securing a $64 million loan from the NFL.
“Those fans financed this in a good way to relieve the burden that might have otherwise fallen on the taxpayers and other communities,” said Governor Scott Walker. “Not only hats off to the Packers, but the fans that helped finance this project..”
Packers President Mark Murphy said the project succeeded “at a time when the economy is not strong we started this this project and created over 2000 jobs over almost two years of the project.”
