Charges Expected Against Drunk Driver

Charges are expected against a Loyal man who was allegedly caused the death of two women and injuries to one other when he was drunk and speeding Saturday morning.
Portage County Sheriff’s deputies say 22 year-old Tim Saavedra was intoxicated when the Chevy Silverado pickup he drove crashed early Saturday morning on Gumz Road near County Highway II in the Town of Linwood.
The crash killed 21-year-old Stephanie Eberhardt and 21-year-old Melissa Peterson-Suzda, both of Wisconsin Rapids died.
21-year-old Lee Hogan of Rudolph is still hospitalized but is expected to survive.
Saavedra is in custody and is expected to be charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle Monday.
