Letter: Act 10 Allowed District to Save Money
To the Editor-
The Stevens Point Area School District just announced a new health insurance partnership with Security Health Plan that will save the district $1.5 million dollars for the 2013-2014 school year.
Saving that kind of money in one school year is definitely good news for the District and will benefit students and taxpayers.
The announcement left out a very important point.
If it weren’t for Act 10 the District would be forced to accept whatever the WEA Trust offered.
Act 10 is saving school districts across the state millions of dollars by allowing them to seek the best health insurance for employees from a competitive market.
Thank you Governor Walker!
