Local Wrestling Team Wins at State
For the City-Times
Every coach wishes for the opportunity to put together that “dream team” – the one where you can choose the team members from anywhere, that team that is
dedicated, disciplined and excellent at their sport.
World Gold Wrestling Coach Dennis Hall created that opportunity with a group of high school and junior high wrestlers who have been part of his program and his camps.
Hall’s team wrestled their way to the number 1 spot at the World Resource Wrestling Camp in Wisconsin Dells, held June 23 – 26, 2013.
Pulling 22 wrestlers from across the state, along with a guest wrestler from New Jersey, the World Gold Wrestling All Star team was formed and ready to take on the 11 other teams attending this years camp.
“Within minutes of getting here and getting settled into their rooms, they started to act and work as a team,” said coach Dennis Hall. “These kids have respect for each other as wrestlers, most have at least met each other at some point, and they all know what it means to group together and form a strong team. They also know what I expect of them as wrestlers.”
With the help of Assistant Coach Kyler Pope, Camp Counselor, UW-Stevens Point wrestler John Roycraft and team captain, 9 year- old WGW wrestler Drew Kedrowicz,
Wrestlers in order of size were: Drew Kedrowicz, Kaide Pope, Colton Heil, Anthony Christmas, Trenton McManus, Gavin Czerwonka, Joey Roth, Will Raatz,
Kolten Pope, Bobby Uttecht, Sam Mitchell, Fritz Schierl, Tyler Hall, Dakota Kelz, Alex Reas, Trevor Ackman, Jerney Simkowski, Joe Ziolkowski, David Lummis, Taylor Rivers, Max Villnow, Jacob Raboy and Connor Stroik.
