‘Taste of the Town’ to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Wisconsin will hold its 9th annual Taste of the Town on August 10th from 5-9 pm at Pfiffner Park in Stevens Point.
Taste of the Town offers an exciting night of great food, entertainment and charitable giving with all proceeds benefiting the youth in Portage County.
Event goers will enjoy scenic views of Pfiffner Park, Portage County’s finest cuisine, live entertainment by jazz singer Tana De Lonay & saxophonist Rod Keyzer, live auction, as well as a champagne raffle. Event sponsors include Furniture & ApplianceMart, WAOW Channel 9, Midwest Communications, and Lee Ayers Jewelers.
Many of Stevens Point’s favorites will provide samples of their signature cuisine and beverage. Participating restaurants include Polito’s Pizza, Michele’s, Melt Chocolat’, Amber Grill, Noodles & Co., Grazies Italian Grill, The Red Mill Supper Club, Silver Coach, Father Fat’s Public House, Ski’s Meat Market, ZEST Coffeehouse & Bakery, McCain Foods, Ranchito, Portesi Italian Foods, Kristin’s Riverwalk, Bistro 212, Perkins, Steffens Bake Shop, The Coffee Studio, and more. In addition, Chef Salvatore Friedel of Bistro 212 will share his culinary expertise through a Chef Demo. He will share cooking tips and recipes as he prepares a Sweet Gazpacho and a Savory Gazpacho.
To compliment the culinary delights, Stevens Point Brewery will showcase several popular beers from their lineup of specialty beers and The Bottle Stop will provide a selection of wines for sampling.
This year’s Live Auction features something for everyone. There will be a Thomas Dailing Designs diamond pendant provided by Lee Ayers Jewelry; a Patio Package including a Vision Grill Professional C Series & 7 piece patio set from Furniture & ApplianceMart along with a gift certificate from Raikowski Food; a food and wine pairing for four from Christian’s Bistro; a Wisconsin Dells Getaway package donated by M3; and Guided Fishing Trip donated by Rivers Plus Guiding.
