Waushara County has charged a man with felony drug distribution.
District Attorney Scott Blader charged 55 year-old Gerald W. Miller, Wautoma, with felony solicitation for the delivery of scheduled I or II narcotics, and possession of narcotic drugs on August 2.
According to the criminal complaint, on July 30 Miller met two special agents from the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), working in an undercover capacity, to purchase what he believed to be approximately 600 OxyContin, 80mg tablets. Miller handed over $20,000 in cash to the agents, who met the defendant in the parking lot of a Town of Wautoma business for the transaction.
Prior to the scheduled purchase, a confidential informant exchanged mobile text messages with Miller and recorded the defendant discussing details of the anticipated exchange, according to the complaint.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration also assisted with this investigation.
