Cyclovia Returning to Stevens Point
City-Times Staff
The 2nd Annual Ciclovia event is returning to Stevens Point.
Ciclovia is a free, non-competitive bicycle/pedestrian event running along the north side of Stevens Point. The event is coming at the end of September.
“Regardless of the snow and rain, we still had a decent turnout for our first ever Ciclovia WI last year,” said Trevor Roark, event coordinator. “These types of open street events are really catching on around the country.”
The 7- mile route loops around the north side of the city from Pfiffner Park, which takes participants through Bukolt and Sculpture Parks, through Schmeeckle Reserve and other areas of the UWSP campus before heading back to Pfiffner Park.
Participants can enter the loop at any time or any location and they can travel in either direction.
The event will include “active rest stops” including Zumba classes and kids events. Team can also dress in costume for the event.
Prizes will be awarded from area businesses including Divepoint Scuba and Emy J’s.
