Fire Destroys Oak Street Home

Fire destroyed a home at the Northeast corner of Oak and Reserve Streets in Stevens Point early this morning.
The fire was reported shortly before 12:30 a.m. and quickly spread throughout the wood frame home. 
At least one car was lost in the fire and some damage was done to neighboring homes from the intense heat of the flames. One occupant and a dog were safely evacuated from the home by Stevens Point Firefighters.
Fire departments on the scene also included Plover and the Town of Hull.
The Red Cross assisted the occupant in finding temporary shelter.
