The Stevens Point Plan Commission meets Tuesday to consider several items by local businesses and property owners.
Commissioners will consider a request to rezone 3640 Northpoint Drive from R-5 multifamily to B4 commercial. The rezoning is necessary for a new car dealership constructed at that location, which is within a wellhead protection district and surrounded by several homes. That construction process was cleared by city leaders over the summer.
Service Cold Storage, which recently relocated to the city, will also bring its site plan before the commission for approval. The proposal includes landscaping around the building, which will be located along a main corridor into the East Park Commerce Center. Community development leaders will formally request tonight that company officials add an additional street side tree for every 75 linear feet of building.
Commissioners will also consider a request from the city to extend E.M. Copps Drive by 100 feet as well as 60 feet of Strongs Avenue on the official city map.
The meeting begins at 6 PM at Lincoln Center, 1519 Water Street, and is open to the public.
