During the summer months Stevens Point Judo Club students worked on new techniques, drills, kata and promotions.
Three Stevens Point Judo students completed testing for advance rank. In recognition of having passed the requirements in practice, time in grade, Judo history and terminology, competition, and technical demonstration, Green Belts were presented to Marissa Arndt and Rob Meronek. Nate Boston was presented with third degree Brown Belt.
All three students demonstrated excellent skills during tournaments and during testing. These students know the difficulty in learning new skills and it is called practices, which make techniques and life easier. To paraphrase Sensei Hayward Nishioka, life becomes easier with practice and the body is the instrument for the purpose of life.”
The Stevens Point Judo Club is open to all men and women and children over the age of 6. The class fee is $40 per semester and meets Thursday nights at 6 PM in the wrestling room of P.J. Jacob’s Junior High. Interests persons are welcome to observe a class before deciding to join.
