Joan Cecilia McHugh, 81
Joan Cecilia McHugh, age 81, of Plover, died September 21, 2013 at St Michaels Hospital after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Joan was born December 13, 1931 to the late James and Adelaide Moriarity in Superior, WI. She grew up there, attended grade school, and graduated from Cathedral High School.
She married M. William Lundgren on December 27, 1951. He died July 31, 1999.
After her marriage, Joan devoted her life to her family. In 1957 Joan and William settled in Stevens Point where they raised 6 children. Joan later became a switch board operator at St Michaels Hospital. She worked there for over 25 years, retiring in 1993.
She married Dennis “Mick” McHugh February 14, 2003 at St Bronislava Catholic Church.
Joan will be remembered for her friendly and social nature. Family was extremely important to her. She relished family events, socializing with her sisters, and especially, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed playing bridge, crocheting, traveling, and reading. Joan was also known for her love of shopping and going out to dinner.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Debra (special friend Bonnie) Beuchel, William (Carol) Lundgren, Lori (Jerome) Kitowski, Patricia Zachow, Susan (Roger) Lee, Thomas (Heather) Lundgren; step children, Mark (Lory) McHugh, Michelle (Brian) Gilkay, Mike McHugh, & Margo (Jimmy) Bronk. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Kathryn (Arne), Casey, Nicholas (Bobbi), Matthew (Mandy), Joseph (Melissa), Elizabeth (Phillip), Sarah (Chad), Alyson (Randy), Michele, Nicole, Hannah, Maxwell, Benjamin, Jay, Kyle, Greg, Andrew, Matthew, Tyler, Dalton, Logan, Talon, Lucas, Katie, Max, Marshall, & Kendall; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Turriff & Dorothy Share; 2 brother in laws; 2 sister in laws; and many nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; former husband, William; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at St Bronislava Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Jeffrey Burril officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Boston Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will also be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow the service in St Stephen Cemetery.
