Harley A. Spilde, 71

Harley A. Spilde, 71, of Stevens Point, died Saturday October 12, 2013, on his birthday, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital. Harley was born on October 12, 1942, in Durand Illinois. He was the son of the late Harold & Lela (Long) Spilde.

Harley’s family farmed in the town of Pleasant Spring where he attended a county school. He graduated from Stoughton High School in 1960.

His marriage to Judith Gunsolus took place on March 11, 1963, at West Koshkonong Lutheran Church in Stoughton. Harley worked for Frito Lay for 35 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the computer, an avid NASCAR fan and loved taking his mustang for rides.

Survivors include his wife Judith Spilde of Stevens Point, daughter, Jan Marie Meyer of Beaver Dam. Son, Todd (Amy) Spilde of Chandler Arizona. Also survived by grandchildren, Kristen Meyer and James Meyer. Two sisters, Rosemary (Lloyd) Denman of Windsor and Kathy Macaulay of Racine. One sister-in-law, Carol Holverson of Stoughton, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Kloz and three brother-in-laws.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, CNA’s and staff on the 2nd floor at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital for their great care of Harley.

Burial will take place at a later date at The Lutheran Cemetery in Stoughton. Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Plover is assisting the family with arrangements.  For online condolences please visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com
