CN presented a $13,860 corporate gift to United Way of Portage County on Thursday, Oct. 10, in support of the 2013 United Way Campaign.
“We support what United Way is doing in this community,” said Kevin Soucie, Director of Government Affairs for CN. “What United Way does here is very much aligned with CN’s mission.”
Dr. Ryan Andrews, a member of the 2013 United Way Campaign Drive Chair Family, thanked CN for its support. “CN is a very big part of this community, and we’re glad they are here,” said Andrews.
United Way of Portage County Executive Director Sue Wilcox said this community is grateful for the many living-wage jobs CN provides for residents of Portage County. “Living-wage jobs were cited in last year’s LIFE (Local Indicators for Excellence) Report as the most important community issue,” said Wilcox. “CN’s ability to provide these types of jobs is great for the community.”
