Dorothy Frances Gleason, 89
Dorothy Frances Gleason (Nee Stanosz), loving mother of Barbara (Tom) Mihm and Donna (Matt) Zacher passed into to her next and eternal life on October 17, 2013. She lived 89 gracious years filled with love and happiness, frequently surrounded by family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 55 years; her son-in-law, Matt; and her brother, Donnie Stanosz. Survived by her two grandchildren, Angela (Nick) Nigro and Jake (Amy) Mihm who hold fond memories of outings with their grandparents. Dorothy also embraced her five great-grandchilden, Hayden and Brady Nigro, George, Madeline and Ella Mihm with deep affection, and they will miss their Grandma GG.
Dorothy is also survived by her younger brothers, Gene (Mary) Stanosz, Lee 9 (Dora) Stanosz; and her sister-in-law, Dorrie Stanosz. Born July 12, 1924, Dorothy experienced a wonderful, full life as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, banking professional, and loyal Marquette Warrior, Packer, and Brewer fan. Dorothy lived life to its fullest, keeping busy with travel, visits with family and friends, reading, and helping others. She commented many times on how quickly time passes and embraced the philosophy to “do it while you can.”
She graciously moved to Stevens Point to be closer to family in 2007 where she lived with an “attitude of gratitude” and was thankful for her life and blessings, up until the difficult end. The family thanks Portage County Health Care and Ministry Hospice for excellent personalized care and to the staff of Oakwood Village for their gentle assistance while Dorothy was a resident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 21 at St. Bronislava, 3200 Plover Rd., Plover, WI. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. before Mass. Pisarski Community Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Plover assisted the family.
