County Parks, Trails to Close for Hunting Season

Portage County Parks are closing for deer season.
All county parks, to include all ski and snowmobile trails, the Ice Age and Tomorrow River Trails, the Standing Rocks dog exercise area and the Moses Creek segment of the Green Circle Trail will be closed to the public beginning November 23. They will re-open on Monday, December 2, 2013.
Only the public hunting areas at Standing Rocks Park, Dewey Recreation Area, Becker Lake Recreation Area, Wisconsin River Recreation Area and the Mill Creek Preserve remain open during the gun deer season and only for licensed deer hunters.
The Dewey Shooting Range will close for the season on Friday, Nov. 22 at at 4:00 PM.
