Beatrice was born July 30, 1933, in Waupaca County, the daughter of Leo and Sophie (Kostus) Lorbiecki. She grew up on the family farm in the town of Alban, and attended Alban and St. Adalbert Schools. She married Ferdinand “Fritz” Simonis on Feb. 3, 1953, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
Shortly after, they moved to Milwaukee, and resided there for 20 years. In 1974, the couple returned to the Rosholt area when they purchased her family’s farm. She lived there until the time of her passing. She was a loving homemaker, and cared for her husband and 17 children. She assisted Fritz with the daily chores on the farm.
Fritz and Bea built their cottage near Pelican Lake, and enjoyed spending time there with family and friends.
She enjoyed watching birds gather outside at her feeders, especially hummingbirds. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, adding bells to her collection, taking Sunday drives, and visits from her grandchildren. Beatrice prayed the rosary daily, and had a strong faith that held the family together.
