Lorraine M. Disher, age 85, of Stevens Point, died November 12, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Lorraine was born May 16, 1928 to the late Alois & Mary (Domaszek) Katzmark in Stevens Point, WI. She grew up in Stevens Point, attended St Joseph’s Academy and graduated in 1945.

She married Edmund Disher on October 1, 1949 at St Peters Catholic Church in Stevens Point, WI. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1965.

Following high school, Lorraine began working for Sentry Insurance. She started in the local Stevens Point office; transferred to Chicago; and later returned to the Stevens Point location. After her marriage, Lorraine devoted her life to family. During that time, she began a home antiquing business, in addition to selling holiday baked goods during the Christmas season. Lorraine later became employed at Hal’s Red Owl in the deli department, and subsequently returned to Sentry Insurance as a mail room organizer. She later retired.

Lorraine will be remembered for her devoted and loving nature. She has a passion for baking sweet treats and crafting renowned family recipes. In her spare time, Lorraine relished spending time with her family, especially at the family cottage. Lorraine had a weakness for testing her luck at the local casinos and had enjoyed venturing to Las Vegas. Later in life, Lorraine became a trivia enthusiast. She also developed a deep appreciation for nature. She enjoyed watching flowers develop, birds singing, and squirrels frolicking.

Survivors include her daughters, Patty Disher and Kathy Disher; brother, David (Agnes) Katzmark; nephew, Michael; nieces, Carol and Tammy.  She is further survived by many extended family members and special friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edmund.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at St Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Lindner officiating. Visitation will precede at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be held in Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.

Family members would like to thank Kelly Cox, Michael Katzmark, and the cardiac nurses at Wausau Aspirus Hospital for the extended care and attention given to Lorraine.
