Saturday is the first day of winter, and it’s coming in with a bang.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Portage and surrounding counties from midnight- 6 PM Sunday.
Heavy snow is expected tonight with a total of 2-6 inches throughout Central Wisconsin, which travel conditions becoming worse throughout the evening.
Plows from Stevens Point and Portage Co. Highway Department will be out in force tonight, but no snow emergency has been issued so cars can still park in legally designated spaces on the street. City-Times will update readers if that changes.
