Security Health Extends Insurance Enrollment Period
For the City-Times
Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., today announced it is extending the enrollment deadline by one week for consumers seeking individual and family coverage effective Jan. 1, and it’s extending the deadline for consumers to pay their first premium bills.
Security Health Plan will accept individual and family plan enrollment through the Health Insurance Marketplace up to 3 p.m. on Dec. 30 for a Jan. 1 effective date.
Applications completed outside of the Health Insurance Marketplace must be submitted to Security Health Plan before midnight Dec. 30, for the insurance plan to be effective Jan. 1.
Security Health Plan will accept premium payments for Jan. 1 coverage postmarked by Jan. 10
“By extending the sign-up deadline another week and giving folks a little more time to pay their premium, maybe we can make this holiday season a bit less stressful,” said Security Health Plan Chief Marketing Officer John Kelly. “We’re working hard to serve our members in this new system and want to relieve some of that deadline pressure.”
To help make enrollment easier through the Health Insurance Marketplace, Security Health Plan will host three additional mini-enrollment fairs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, 26 and 27.
To register for one of these special sessions, call 1-877-378-5236 or visit www.securityhealth.org/easyexchange.
“As of this morning, more than 7,000 people have enrolled with Security Health Plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace,” Kelly said.
