Bernice F. Stasko, age 92, died, December 24, 2013 at the Portage County Health Care Center under hospice care.  

Bernice was born December 14, 1921, in Plover, the first of five children born to Michael and Bridget (Mansavage) Stasko. Bernice worked at Sentry Insurance until her retirement. She enjoyed travel, reading, playing the piano and took great pride in her flower garden. She stayed active until her illness, taking advantage of classes at the Lincoln Center, water aerobics, attending theater, and her ministry with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by a brother Jim (Sandy) Stasko, Florida, sister-in-law Mary Stasko (Rio), along with nieces and nephews:  Sebastian Stasko, Jonathan Stasko, Tamara Hendon, Florida; Tom (Kimberly) Stasko, Rio, Chuck Stasko, Rio; Mike (Tina) Stasko, DeForest; Cheryl (Wil) Hall, Madison; Patt (Jim) Johnson, California, Roger (Lois) Stasko (Wausau), and Donna Plahmer (Stevens Point). She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Hank (Mary), Mel (Dorothy), Roger (Kitty).

Visitation will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (3600 North Point Drive) in Stevens Point on Saturday, December 28, 2013, from 1:00 -2:00, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
