Church Vandal Suspect Eyed for Other Area Property Crimes
By Patrick Lynn
A Plover man facing charges for vandalizing a local church will be in court Monday to face separate charges involving vandalism and property damage to several cars in the area.
28-year old Michael Bahrke is under suspicion for breaking the windshields and taillights on several cars in the Plover/Whiting area. Police say they were able to arrest Bahrke after finding his cell phone at one of the crime scenes. Bahrke is also suspected of damaging motion sensors and causing one basement to flood after tampering with an exterior water faucet.
Bahrke was on bond for his alleged involvement with vandalism and breaking into the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in July. He now remains in the Portage County Jail until his preliminary hearing Monday.
Bahrek’s plea hearing for the church break-in is scheduled for January 24th.
