Passport to Paradise to Hold ‘Havana Nights’ Fundraiser

For the City-Times
As the season has surely changed from fall to winter in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the winds of change have also been happening with the annual Passport to Paradise collaborative event presented by the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA.
The event will be held at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center, 1001 Amber Ave.
Since this event is celebrating its 12th year, the Passport to Paradise committee knew that some changes needed to be made to truly re-energize this event to make it a draw for community members from across Portage County, and that is exactly what we did.
So, on Friday, January 24th, 2014, let us transport you to “Havana Nights” for an exciting evening of delicious Cuban cuisine, dancing and the live, sultry tunes of the band MadiSalsa. Our hours d’oeuvre-style buffet offers a diverse selection of tasty cuisine including Cuban-style beef strip loin with papaya relish and islander and coconut shrimp with fresh ginger marmalade, and so much more!
You will also have a chance to bid on fabulous silent auction items, and by attending this event, you will automatically be entered into our raffle! The ticket price is only $25 per person, so take advantage of this great deal! Purchase tickets at the Stevens Point Area YMCA, by calling the Y at 715-342-2980, or online at http://reg.spymca.org. All proceeds will benefit the youth programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA. We look forward to seeing you there!
