State health officials are investigating three probable cold weather-related deaths in Wisconsin. The deaths were reported in Ashland, Marquette and Milwaukee Counties and occurred on Friday, January 3. The Department of Health Services says those deaths remain under investigation and no further information can be released at this time.

Forecast – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Wisconsin until noon Wednesday. Temperatures will remain bitterly cold overnight and tomorrow morning with wind chills of -25 to -35 across the state. Frostbite can occur in 30 minutes or less. Make sure children returning to school Wednesday morning are properly dressed for the conditions. A warm up begins later Wednesday with above normal temperatures by Friday and continuing through the weekend with highs in the 30’s.

On the road –  If you are traveling make sure you have an emergency kit in your vehicle through the end of winter.  Items to include in the kit are candles and matches, a flashlight, pocket knife, snacks, a cell phone adapter, a blanket and extra clothing.   Also check with 511WI for road conditions.
