Charlotte “Char” Chudej, 56

Charlotte “Char” Chudej, age 56 of Plover, passed away January 10, 2013 at her home, after being in ill health the past 3 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Char will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday January 15, 2013 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church.  Rev. James Trempe will officiate.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 –  8:00 PM on Tuesday at the Shuda – Plover Family Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.  Visitation will also be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:15 AM at the church prior to the Mass.
Char was born August 6, 1957 in Plainfield, the daughter of Gerald (Bob) and Lynette (Zywicki) Woyak.  She graduated from Tri-County High School in 1975.  Char also graduated from the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology in 1976.  She began her career as a hair stylist at Todays Heads in Stevens Point, before joining the J.C. Penney Salon from 1983 – 2001.  She married James Chudej on May 14, 1983 at St. Pauls Church in Plainfield.  The couple owned and operated “Just Country” bar and restaurant in Amherst from 1980- 84.
In 2001 Char began working as a stylist at 7th Heaven Salon in Plover and stayed there until 2011.  In 1999 she began delivering her beautician services to many of the area assisted living and nursing homes. In 2012 she began a new venture as a baker for Copps.
For years Char has dressed as Santa during the Christmas season and visited several area child daycares where she would read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and hand out presents to children.  She loved all holidays, camping with family and friends, and was an avid member of St. Bronislava PCCW. She was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan and was often seen on game day dressed in full makeup, a green and gold wig and packer clothing from head to foot.
She is survived be her husband James and their daughter Chelsea.
Her parents: Gerald and Lynette Woyak, Bancroft.  Her 4 sisters: Jane (George) Robinson, Plainfield; Carol (Mark) Beyerl, Stevens Point; Geri Lynn Goodwin, WI Rapids; Susan (Andy) Besaw, Bancroft.  2 brothers: Gary (Brenda) Woyak, Plainfield; Robert (Jennifer) Woyak, Plainfield.  numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Whitney Jo and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
