Following Plover, Stevens Point Declares Snow Emergency

The City of Stevens Point issued a snow emergency this afternoon shortly after 2 PM.
The emergency declaration, which prohibits any vehicle to be parked on any street or be ticketed, then towed away at the owner’s expense, run from 6 PM Tuesday through 6 PM Wednesday, Jan. 15.
The Village of Plover issued a snow emergency earlier today, which is in effect from noon Tuesday through noon Wednesday.
Officials from the Stevens Point Police Department and Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office are asking drivers to slow down and allow extra travel time.
