Stevens Point Ranked 8th Best Place for Job Seekers

Stevens Point is ranked in the top ten places in Wisconsin for job seekers.
According to a study by NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy website, the city ranks #8 on the list, beating out Wisconsin Rapids, West Bend and Madison.
As many people continue searching for employment in this recovering economy, NerdWallet wanted to help residents of the Badger State find the best places for jobs. To do so, NerdWallet evaluated the state’s cities following the criteria of median household income, monthly homeowner costs, unemployment rates and population growth.
Stevens Point experienced a 5.9 percent increase in the working-age population between 2009 and 2012, and its residents make a median household income of $38,934. Major employers in the area include Delta Dental of Wisconsin, UWSP and Sentry Insurance.
