Hankcock Man Accused in UWSP Student’s Death Headed for Trial
City-Times Staff
A 26 year-old Hancock man implicated in the death of a UWSP student has been ordered to stand trial.
Erik Olsen, who allegedly supplied heroin to a UWSP senior who later died of an overdose, is charged with first-degree reckless homicide. The victim, 22 year-old Jordan Peterson, was found dead by his roommate in a Briggs Street residence on November 17.
Olsen had his preliminary hearing before Portage County Circuit Judge Thomas Flugaur, who determined there was enough evidence to proceed to trail. Olsen will enter a plea before the court on February 17.
Peterson had been attending UWSP as a biology major.
