flagDonald F. Phillip age 91 of Stevens Point passed away Saturday January 18, 2014 at Maple Ridge Living Center in Plover.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.  Friends and relatives will gather to share memories form 9:30 – 10:45 AM Friday at the church.  Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Donald was born February 5, 1922 in Stevens Point, the son of Albert and Margaret (Bungert) Phillip.  He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1941.  Don entered the United States Army in 1943 and served in Trinidad.  He earned the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, 4 overseas bars, service stripe, and Good Conduct Medal.
He was honorably discharged in 1946 and returned to Stevens Point.  Don became a journeyman electrician and worked in the area until his retirement.  He was  a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post # 6, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  Don enjoyed downhill skiing, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his sister Dorothy (John) Piatt, WI Rapids and his brother Melvin (Diana) Phillip, Green Bay, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers: Gerald, George, Albert Jr, Maurice, and Raymond.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Ridge Memory Care of Plover for their kind and compassionate care of Don.
