Carol Kirsch, age 72, of Plover passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, January 17, 2014.

A Celebration of Life service for Carol will be held at 5:00 PM on Shuda Funeral Home.  Pastor Doug Schneider of Woodland Church will give the service.  Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 3:00 PM to the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for the Portage County Humane Society.

Carol was born August 20, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of John and Ruth (Jennings) Wright.  She grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Kenwood Senior High then Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
She married Terry Koch in 1962 in Baltimore.  The couple moved to Stevens Point in 1966, and later owned and operated The Discounter.  The
couple later divorced.  In 1976 Carol began working as a dental assistant and in 1979 married Dr. Raymond Kirsch, DDS.  They worked together until his death in 2005. When her children were young Carol volunteered for the Girl Scouts, Trinity Lutheran Church summer camps
and Women’s Circle. She had a true love of animals and supported many local and national animal charities She adored her two Shih Tzus: Skoshi and Chibi, who were part of the family.  Carol was an avid gardener, who created and maintained one of the most beautiful yards in the area.
She also enjoyed feeding and watching all the birds and other wildlife that would visit her yard.  Carol loved her family very much and will
truly be missed by them.  The family would like to thank Aspirus VNA Extended Care and wonderful home care staff that provided warm
companionship and assistance to keep Mom in her home.

Carol is survived by her two children: Kimberly (David) Fay, Waterloo, WI and Jeffrey (Suzan) Koch, Omaha, NE. Two grandchildren: Cody and
Mackenzie Koch. Neice: Connie Wright, Festus, MO.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. Raymond Kirsch, and her brother, Glenn Wright.
