Harriett Trebatoski, 93

Harriett Trebatoski, age 93 of Stevens Point, died on January 21, 2014 at Oakridge Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Harriott will be at 1:30 PM on Saturday January 25, 2014 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas Lindner
will officiate. A Private Burial will take place at Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4:00
– 7:00 PM on Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. There will be a prayer service held at 7:00 PM at the funeral chapel. Visitation will
also be held from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church on Saturday. .
Harriett was born March 16, 1920, in Crosby, MN, the daughter of the late Harry and Amelia (Olson) Garceau. She graduated from
Crosby-Ironton High School. She met her husband Stanley while both worked at the J.C. Penney Store and were married on July 19, 1939.
The couple moved to Stevens Point in 1940 and raised seven children. While their children were in school Harriett worked as a clerk at
Coast to Coast Store and as a caterer for UWSP Food Service.
Harriett loved to cook and bake. Her family especially remembers her for her cinnamon rolls, bread and donuts. For 29 years her crocheted,
knitted and other craft items were sold at the Holly Shoppe. Family members and many friends received her afghans and baby quilts as gifts.
She love to sing, enjoyed listening to music and was a great dancer. Her family and friends will always remember her hospitality, generosity,
wit and her caring nature.
Harriett was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and their Rosary Society, National Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Stanislaus Mixed Choir in its
beginning years and was a charter member of the Resurrection Choir. She was a Gold Star mother as her son Tom died while serving in the Air
Force during the Vietnam War.
Harriet is survived by sons Bob (Kay) Trebatoski, York, PA, Mike (Jeanie) Trebatoski, Plover and John (Karen) Trebatoski, Stevens Point;
two daughters, Pat Trebatoski and Carol (Dennis) Mallison and daughter-in-law Carol Trebatoski, all of Stevens Point. Twelve grandchildren: Karen, Kathy, Rob, Craig, Lori, Jill, Tom, Trista, Matt, John, Phillip and Rachel. Seventeen great-grandchildren; Thomas, Shani, Sarah, Amanda, Ashley, Holly, Lauren, Dylan, Erin, Megan, Owen, Annaliese, Benjamin, Josephine, Cameron, Amelia and Gwendolyn, as well as, two step great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Taylor. Also surviving is her sister Veronica Davidson, Eden Prairie, MN, sisters in-in-law Sheila Garceau and Emily Bierman and forty-eight nieces and nephews from both the Trebatoski and Garceau families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley, sons Thomas and Joseph, brothers Jay, David, Carroll and Paul Garceau, and sister Mary Roy.
Memorials will be established in Harriett’s name for the St. Stanislaus Choir Fund and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
