Donald P. Grusecki, 56

On January 15,2014 Donald P. Grusecki (56) passed away unexpectedly and unrepentantly. Our family lost a hero, a best friend, a husband, a brother and a father.
The world lost a man who was selfless, incredibly loved, and incredibly happy. But, the heavens were granted the strongest soldier. We gained a guardian angel that will always be by our side.
Donald was born December 14, 1957 in Park Ridge Illinois to Edward and Rose (Cullen) Grusecki. He went to school in Illinois and started his life career as a Journeyman Carpenter.
Donald continued his career in Illinois until 1997 when he moved to Stevens Point WI and was employed at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point as a Facility Repair Worker.
Donald was completely involved in his family’s life. Be it a football, baseball, soccer, softball game or watching his daughter Elizabeth dance. Don was very involved in scouting with his son Edward with Troop 297 whether doing something with the troop or camping. He achieved the level of wood badge. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper.
Donald is survived by his wife Lori (Simonis), son Edward, daughter Elizabeth. He is survived by his sister Claudia (Steven) Anderson, (Whitewater WI) His nephews Steven (Sarah), Michael. His brothers Clifford (Bradley Il), William (Stevens Point WI). His mother-in-law Dorothy Simonis (Stevens Point, WI). He is further survived by his brother-in-laws Gregory (Nancy), Dennis (Phyllis), Michael (Sharon) Simonis and Sister in law Kathy (Dana) and nieces and nephews.
Services will be provided by Shuda Funeral Home – Stevens Point on Friday January 31,2014. Sharing of stories and memories from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm.
We will live everyday with you within us, we love you. Keep him in your hearts, and never forget the impact he had on so many lives. “What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.”
In lieu of flowers, A memorial will be established at a later date.
